Get to Know Me (2)
Ballet
(Pictured above is (I think) the 5 year old me in my Spanish Costume)
Yes, I'm a dancer. I've been dancing since was 3 years old. So by now about 12 years. Wow, the time has flown by. It seems just like yesterday that I was being ushered on stage by a teacher with a lot of other little kids. But now I have my own tutu and will be done in 2 years! What has happened to the time?!

(Pictured above is me leaping through the air as a Snowflake in the 2018 Nutcracker)
In the 2018 Nutcracker, I was a Snowflake, Spanish, and Lemon Drop. It was a very fun and exciting show as it was my last show with the dance studio I was with. Quite unexpectedly my teacher's husband was diagnosed with cancer in the summer and past away only a short while before our production. There was just no way for my teacher to keep the studio open past the show. So, she sold it to another dance company in the area. Through the tears and heart break, my parents decided that I would be best if I moved some where else. Unfortunately, my teacher was never able to see our production in person. It meant a lot to me to hear a simple "Good job Hannah" or "Well done." But knowing that she would never be able to see me perform my last with her solo was heartbreaking and earth-shattering. Moving to a new studio is hard not knowing anyone and feeling like you will never get back into the groove of things is hard. The hardest part is going form a small studio to a larger studio where your status level drops significantly and your not considered the "big girl" but the "new girl". Whats cool is that people don't know me so they don't know what i'm capable of till i'm given a peace and work hard to make it my own. But I know that in time I will hear the simple "Good job" or "Well done." But, it will take awhile.

I love this post. Your honesty about life and growing up as a dancer is very awe-inspiring. Good job! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I had a hard time writing it which the hardest part was trying to see the screen through the tears. :)
DeleteAww. :( :) You wrote it very well. You've gotten through the hardest part of your dance career so far, it's all going to turn out so much better than you ever believed, I'm sure of it. ;)
DeleteAwww. This is so sweet. Now I know why you were crying while writing it ❤️
