So over this week end I got the opportunity of a life time. My opportunity was to try the world famous Chick-Fil-a. So here are my experiences! [This is what was ordered. Fries and a yummy chicken sandwich... Yum] [This is the consumption] [Ha] [Always got to eat with family!] So, my over all consensus of my delicious adventure is that Chick-fil-a should be in every city and town. Ya I know simple and to the point right (haha).  Peace! Note: Everything posted that is either written or a picture is mine. Update - Dance

Update # 1: I can officially say this I have done the most pointe I have ever done in my whole life!! I did it yay! At my old studio I would usually only take about 1 hour of pointe a week.  But here at my new dance studio I have  3 hours in pointe classes. This week I was actually able to keep my pointe shoes on for all 3 of those hours!!  Update #2: So right now you might be thinking "Hannah when are you preforming next?". Well actually I will be preforming in June with 6 dances. Ya I know its a lot. I'm super excited and working hard to prefect my dances as best I can. Update #3:  Here is another aspect of dancing that I have really completely talked to  you about. . .Company. Yes that's right Company. Right now the plan is to audition for the Company in June hoping that I will make it really high into the Company and not have to work my way up very far. We actually went and saw the April performance for the Company and things looked...

I was just look through my camera roll on my phone and found some gorgeous pictures that I took last summer. So, I hope your brain enjoys these lovely things! (I went on a hike last summer to a beach and this is some pretty trees I saw)  (Here is the beach we went to) (I love the Hood Canal. The water actually looked teal yesterday.) (Ok so this is a spider I found. Isn't it lovely!) (I named it something but I can't remember what. So lest just call it Jasper)                                                                    (Can you spot it?)  (Looks like Jasper found a new home. To be honest he matches better in this flower anyway.)  Note: Everything posted that is either written or a picture is mine. I ask that my pictures are to not be downloaded or us...

Pointe Shoes Part 2 of 2

Image
The Old and The New Yes, pointe shoes get old after lots of use. I replace mine every 6 months but other dancers can even replace them every month its crazy and expensive. I'm going to take you through the steps of getting new pointe shoes: #1 Pointe shoes so not come with the ribbons attached so you have to sew them on. For me the sewing process takes a bout an hour and a half but it ranges for each dancer.  #2 After the sewing comes the breaking in portion. I don't know if you have ever had a pair of hiking  but they don't feel the greatest if you do not wear them around the house for a couple hours before you go hiking. This is almost the case with pointe. But with pointe shoes it is quite more extensive and painful. You have to beat on them with hammers and do lots of exercises.  (Pointe Shoe Quotes) #3 After the pointe shoes are broken in you reach a middle phase. The middle phase is when the pointe shoes are broken in and don't hurt so bad. Its the...

Pointe Shoes Part 1 of 2

As, I mentioned in other blog posts I am a dancer. I am studying jazz, tap, ballet, pointe and modern. I am here to answer some myths and give you a basic understanding  about pointe dancing and shoes.  There is actually a myth that ballet is actually damaging and alters your body. The altering yes. The damaging no. Ballet does not damage your body IF your doing it correctly. Let me say that again. Ballet does not damage your body IF you are doing it correctly. If you do the moves incorrectly you can really damage your body. But if you listen to the corrections that your dance teacher is giving you you will be fine. Dancers (but ballet dancers particularly) are trained to actually turn out there legs and put all their weight in the balls of there feet. If you ever notice a dancer leaning forward slightly that's because they are putting there weight in the balls of there feet like they trained hours and hours to do. Normal people that actually don't dance ballet put there we...

SNOW!!!!!! Yes snow!!! I have literally been waiting all fall and beginning of winter for our snow!!!! We have about 5" or more of snow!!! It's great!! (I think that my favorite part of snow is seeing our house. In my opinion I think that our house is simply beautiful in the snow!)  (A Red Huckleberry bush cover in snow) (ooooh la la) (The boys are trying to sled) (My dad made this snow man and put it on our mail box. He called it "ultimate praise" or something.) (You can kind of see my beautiful Olympics) (The trees are so pretty!!!) Note: Everything posted that is either written or a picture is mine.
